Paul Rivett
Paul Rivett is the co-founder and Chairman of NordStar Capital, a Canadian company he co-founded with Jordan Bitove in 2020. NordStar is a long-term focused, relationship-based, innovative funding and advisory services firm. Prior to co-founding NordStar, Mr. Rivett served as the President of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, a global insurance holdings and value investing company, where he worked for nearly two decades. Mr. Rivett currently serves on the boards of GreenFirst Forest Products, Chorus Aviation, VerticalScope, Blue Ant Media and is the Chairman of Torstar, a NordStar portfolio company, and Recipe Unlimited, Canada’s leading restaurant company. He has previously been a member of a number of notable boards, including as Vice-Chair of Fairfax Africa, PEAK Athletics (Bauer & Easton Sports), TeamSnap, Golf Town & Sporting Life, Dexterra, Arctic Gateway Group, AGT Foods, MEGA Brands, Resolute Forest Products and The Brick.
Rick Doman
Rick Doman is the CEO of GreenFirst Forest Products, a forest-first business, focused on environmentally sustainable forest management and lumber production. Mr. Doman has over 45 years of experience in the forestry and lumber industry, notably with Western Forest Products (formerly named Doman Industries.) where he spent 30 years serving in a variety of roles, including President and CEO. Mr. Doman also founded EACOM Timber Corporation where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from 2008 to 2013 and as Chairman from 2013 to 2015.
Brendon AbramS
Brendon Abrams has over 10 years of capital markets experience, most recently serving as a Director and Equity Research Analyst (real estate) at Canaccord Genuity. Prior to this, Mr. Abrams served as a portfolio manager at a Toronto-based investment firm. He began his career working at a national accounting and business consulting firm, where he earned his Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accounting designations.
William Morris
Mr. Morris served as Accenture's Canada President for 12 years. As Accenture’s Canadian leader, he grew the business from $250 million to $1.3 billion CAD and to 5000 employees. He retired in 2019 after 36 years with the company. He also led Accenture’s North American Resources Operating Unit, which encompassed all of the company's services for energy, mining, chemicals and utilities industries. In 2017 he received the Women's Executive Network (WXN) Vanguard Leadership Award in Inclusion and Diversity.. He currently serves on the boards of Pivotree Inc. and ClearBlue Markets, a leading expert in carbon markets. He is also an advisor to the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Mr. Morris holds the ICD.D designation and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen's University
Brian Gonick
Brian Gonick is a Principal at Senvest International where he oversees the management of the investment team, business development, operations, and accounting. Previously he was a Portfolio Manager in the Media group at Balyasny Asset Management, a $4+ billion hedge fund, and the Director of Research/Senior Analyst at Corsair Capital Management, a $500 million hedge fund. He worked as an investment banker for more than a dozen years and has experience in M&A, equity offerings and restructurings, primarily in consumer industries.
Vlad Amurjuev
Vlad Amurjuev is Vice President, Investments at Osmington Inc. a private investment company owned by David Thomson, chairman of Thomson Reuters. Vlad is a member of the investment team that sources and executes equity and debt investments in real estate, private equity and venture capital. Prior to his current role, Vlad worked as CFO at Barnhart Asset Management, a boutique real estate private equity firm that managed a $150m private equity fund for Canadian pension funds. Vlad’s responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of financial management, fund structuring, acquisitions, financings and reporting. Vlad holds a bachelor degree from The Schulich School of Business as well as CPA, CA and CFA designations.
